May 8-10th - Novice Tourney

The Barony of the Sacred Stone and the Canton of the Guardians of the
Sacred Stone wish to invite all of Atlantia to join us for this year’s
Novice Tourney, held at Camp Cherokee in King’s Mountain SC, on May 8 –
10th. The site opens at 5pm on Friday and closes at 12pm on Sunday.
Cabin space is limited to 104 and there is no tenting allowed.
Merchants are encouraged, pets are permitted and the site is wet (please
be responsible). There will be both a lunch and a breakfast available
for a very nominal fee on Saturday. Baroness Gwynwilf (see below) will
be preparing the breakfast, lunch and feast. Any dietary concerns
should be directed to her. Feast space is limited to 110 so a paid
reservation is strongly recommended.
The A&S Novice competition is open to all artisans who have been working
in any new art form for less than two years. The open A&S tourney will
be for period siege weapons done in miniature. Documentation and
working models will receive extra points.
The Heavy Weapons Novice Tourney, which starts at 10 am SHARP, is open
to anyone who has been authorized for two years or less with weapon and
shield or one year or less in any other weapons form. The overall format
has changed somewhat but the idea remains the same. There will be a
separate double elimination list for each weapons form, with the winner
from each list competing in the finals to determine the overall Novice
Champion. Immediately following the Novice list there will be a warlord
tourney and (if time permits) a magic style tourney open to all
fighters.
The Rapier Tourney is open to anyone authorized in Rapier for one year
or less and will be followed by a tourney open to all rapier fighters.
There will also be an Archery Shoot consisting of a Royal Round and a
children's shoot (start time is 10 am).
There will be Children's Activities on Saturday for the little ones.
