I sing of one in black and gold
A knight and earl brave and bold
A faithfull friend in peace and war
But Black Kane's sword shall rise no more

A man who'd stand in honor's fight
With blows to foes both just and right
In battle's fray he'd stay the fore

Many a man he'd teach and guide
Repair dispair with wholesome pride
His sword of Sable in field of Or

That stole his noble life away
