Allow me to suggest the book Druids, Gods, & Heros from Celtic Mythology.
ISBN # 0-87226-919-1.
This book, while not being a college level treatment of Celtic Mythology, is a
fine one and I think it would serve you quite nicely. It has great pictures
and does not read like a thesis. Oh and the pictures are quite nice also :-).
