Unfortunately, there are always people who feel they have to tell you
what you are doing wrong. The manner in which someone informs you that
your dress might be confusing others is always a difficult issue.  If a
friend says, "hey that looks like you are wearing a pelican medallion"
they may be trying to steer you away from making a faux pas.  However,
anyone who tells you you CAN'T wear something because they are unable to
discern the difference is being RUDE and showing their pettiness!  Those
faults, in my book, are a much worse offenses!    As for those items of
dress, if you like it, and know that it is NOT forbidden, wear it and go
in peace.
