I'm sorry, my lady, but you seem to have made a serious error.
The theoretical idea of a good blow has nothing to do with the difference
in armour. A knight (or other fighter) in full plate should take the same
blow as someone in carpet armour, and call the same blow light.
The idea behind SCA armoured combat is that a "good" blow with a real
sword would penetrate mail. Not that a "good" blow would penetrate
whatever armour a fighter happens to be wearing.
