Rhinohides

Greetings! I am not a fighter, nor do I play one on TV. BUT, I do talk with
alot of fighters and I have found the general idea is that--Would an actual
sword have gone through the armor I am wearing and done damage to my body? I
have heard of some heavy fighters who play as though they were rapier fighters
ie: touch kill. (There is nothing wrong with rapier fighting, my Lord plays
in that fashion also). And while it is fine if a person wants to take a blow
that touches them with a slight force, they should not expect everyone to work
that way. A sword would have to be swung at a good force to penetrate some of
the armor that is worn-the helm for example. Therefore, the type of armor you
wear would play a part in your calibration. Obviously, a sharp sword would
have gone through carpet armor much faster than a harder armor. I believe that
many in Atlantia play to be as realistic as possible when taking blows--this is
not rhinohiding. It is reinacting the middle ages realistically to the best of
their ability. In Service, Kari Kyst
