This is not quite accurate. Caraidaoc, as King of the East, sent the
message to the Middle. A year later, the message was "officially"
received; in the interim Cariadoc had moved to the Middle and won Crown
Tourney. But he had not yet been crowned; according to the History of the
Midrealm Royalty, Cariadoc (already an Eastern Duke) was Crown Prince of
the Midrealm during Pennsic I.
However, if you ask him, he'll generally refuse to contradict the more
common story -- he says it sounds better that way.
