I have a remembrance some might find amusing......

Many moons ago, when I was still in the Army, I went to my first Estrella
war.  It was great, and it was my first event longer than two days.

Anyway, when I got back to base, PFC Garrett (that's me) was walking between
the parking lot and the barracks, when our Battalion Commander exited the
barracks and made for the parking lot.  At the appropriate distance  I
snapped a crisp salute and greeted him with..........."Good day, m'lord!"
Oops!
But the kicker was his response.  With out missing a beat, he saluted back
and said "Hardly necessary Private, but good day!"
