Re: primo examples of courtly behavior

Lady Ana Ilevna witnessed the following event back when we lived in the
West. When I told her of this thread on the Merry Rose, she wanted me
to relay it.

King Stephan of Belatrix II of the West was on his way to a meeting for
which he was late. He striding quicky along the side of the Eric (list
field) dressed in georgeous garb, with the crown of the West on his
head.

Suddenly, out runs a little girl from between two pavilions. She skids
to a stop to avoid runing into this large adult male, looks up at him,
and freezes. Ana Ilevna says that it was clear from the look on the
girl's face that she recognized him as her King, and didn't know whether
to curtsey or bolt from fright.

His Majesty knelt down and asked her name, chatted with her a bit, put
her at ease, then walked on to his meeting, with one little girl looking
like she'd just been given the best present in the world in his wake.

That's wonderful courtesy, too!

Regards!
