Re: in character

Lochmere's Night on the Town was very much in this vein. It was done
this year in an Elizabethan setting, with much pomp. There were two
feuding households with strong rival leaders (tee hee.) There was also
a Tavern, the Stews, a Barber Surgeon, Cock fighting, bear baiting, and
raiding Spaniards. It was great fun, and shall be again this year on
April 16-18th. The more one was in Elizabethan townsman persona, the
more fun one had, I admit. But I think everyone had fun.

On another note though, in my limited experience being in persona takes
alot of work. You do have to concentrate more. However if those around
you are doing it, it is much easier. The persona play lasted really
well throughout the morning and much into the afternoon at Night on the
Town, but greatly fizzled out by court/feast and the evening.

Something else to consider is the theme aspect. I would try to wear
Viking to Tourney of Ymir since it is a Viking event. If there was a
high degree of viking persona play going on, I would feel quite
uncomfortable in 15th cent Italian, with a French name. Does this mean
I won't attend these events? Certainly not, but I will attempt to make
a few alterations beforehand.

Just spouting off in delirium,
Genevieve
