Re: Rhubarb? Toxic?

Poster: SCAEtain@aol.com

Greetings,

I worked for a summer at a Living History Museeum where they recreated one of
the first American colonies (St. Mary's City) and they told me that they could
not plant rhubarb anymore.
Apparently the leaves are poisonous, and when it's very young, those leaves
look just like spinach.
They were worried about people walking through and nibbling on the leaves, so
despite the fact that the colonists planted lots of rhubarb, there was none
planted at the museum.
