The journey to Emerald Joust

Greetings, all. I'm new to the kingdom and am wondering if the commute from
College Park, MD to the site for Emerald Joust will be completely awful on
Friday night. If so, and I choose to drive down Saturday morning instead,
does that mean the campsite options won't be too great?

Also, how long will the drive take? (If I leave Saturday am, it will be
from metro DC.)
