Re: The journey to Emerald Joust

Without traffic, the trip will take 3 to 3 1/2 hours. I made it from
College Park to South Richmond in 2 3/4 hours recently on a Sunday
morning.

I used to commute from DC to Richmond on the weekends, and I frequently
attend classes or user group meetings up there. On Fridays, I like to
be south of the beltway on 95 by 3PM. If I am not, I stop and have
dinner, maybe even a beer and time to walk off the beer in a mall -
traffic will thin out to merely aggravating around 7:30 - 8:00 PM. On
a Friday prior to a 3 day weekend with good weather forcast....I would
leave by noon in order to make it without traffic. Note that I am a
geniuine traffic phobic - a natural inability to sit still breathing
carbon monoxide for hours at a time, I guess. Traveling time with
Beltway traffic 4 -6 hours.

I cannot speak to the camping conditions.
