viking/roman garb inquiry

Greetings, good gentles. It's perilously warm out and I need to make new
garb ASAP. Something Viking/Roman (bare arms!) and preferably period ...
Any recommendations on books/patterns or patient seamstresses who wouldn't
mind giving me a few pointers?
