Saltare, the Meridies Kingdom Dance Guild welcomes you to...
A Known World Dance Symposium
January 30-February2nd 1997
Hosted by the Barony of Axemoor
New Orleans Louisiana
Come join us just outside of New Orleans as Saltare, the Dance Guild of the
Kingdom of Meridies puts together the first KNOWN WORLD DANCE SYMPOSIUM, to
be hosted by the Barony of Axemoor, January 30th-February 2nd, 1997.
TOP INSTRUCTORS RESEARCHERS FROM THROUGHOUT THE KNOWN WORLD
So far we have received confirmations from instructors from CAID, MIDREALM,
ANSTEORRA, TRIMARIS, AND MERIDIES, with more researchers and teachers still
to be invited. The Symposium will include full courses of study in English
Country Dance, Italian Renaissance Dance, Court Dances of England and France,
as well as Middle Eastern Dance, and classes for Musicians, Dance Research,
Reconstruction, Choreography, and the Art of Dance Teaching.
TWO GREAT EVENINGS OF DANCING
Friday night the site will play host to the theme SCA FAVORITE DANCES
featuring dances popular throughout the Known World. Saturday night there
will be held a masked ball with a Carnival theme, THE KNOWN WORLD DANCE
SYMPOSIUM GRAND BALL. This ball will feature dances taught at the Symposium.
COME EARLY AND ENJOY NEW ORLEANS
Both the hotel and site will be available beginning Thursday evening for
gentles that wish to sightsee and enjoy New Orleans. Plus, the Barony of
Axemoor has arranged a SPECIAL TOUR of New Orleans that will depart Friday
Afternoon. (Send tour inquiries to the Reservation address below.)
The Known World Dance Symposium will be held at the spacious REGINA COELI
RETREAT CENTER in Covington LA. People who reserve VERY early may elect to
stay in a bed on site. Also, we have reserved the HOLIDAY INN in Covington
just 6 short miles from site. Call (504)893-3580 for hotel reservations.

Weekend (Staying on site) $27 $29
Daytrip(hotel or driving in) $15 $17
Prices include Feast Saturday night and two breakfasts. Please deduct $5.00
for off-board. Those who will be staying on site Thursday night please add
