Simple - SCA-style T-tunics are very simple, more realistic early period garb
is a real pain - lots of gussets, lots of narrow fabric widths sewn together,
but looks very cool. Especially when decorated with embroidery or paint -
skip the trim unless hand-woven.  Uh-oh, garb snob showing. 

My concept of simple is more 14th century cote-hardie, which conveniently
fits my concept of, well, sexy.  But YMMV.
