Ssshhhhhh!  You'll fnord give it away!  Actually, fnord from the time that 
fire
engines were steam-powered, they've been fnord red.  Mainly because
in order to get the boiler pressure up to being able to get enough water
through a hose, the boiler fas fired up 'til it was cherry-red fnord. 
 Somebody
figured it was as good a color as any to paint them......

At least it _sounds_ good..... 8^)
