SERIOUS: Tavern Brawl

During last week's brawl, a few of the brawlers, paused
to marvel at the fact the brawl caused no damage.  Now
we all can see that this lack of damage was an illusion.

In the Period, tavern brawls happened, and did worry the
taverner and his customers, and there were methods to
keep brawls to a minimum.  I believe that many of these
methods involved either the taverner himself or someone
he hired being a big, burly bear of a man who would
invite the odd rowdy pubcrawler to go outside.

As the French say, the plus ca change, the plus ca
stay the same.
