Re: Ld. Kwellend

Greetings from Tibor.

I doubt the people of Atlantia want to fight out the "pro and anti mandatory
membership" debate one more time on their list.

Might I point, Your Highness, that you are quite simply in error in almost
every point that you make? I say this, having read the insurance policies for
each of the last several years, and having been reading the Board Minutes for
about the last decade. I would be pleased to cite the source of my facts for
you in private email.

To get specific: dinner for two, and a movie, costs my wife and around 25
dollars, at our usual haunts. The insurance premium is not all that high, and
it doesn't protect you a bit: it protects the organization. The Kingdom
newsletter is paid for, in cash, and is a profit center for the Corporation.
(c.f. recent discussions on the Midrealm list, with facts and figures cited,
or previous discussions on the sca-reform list.)

The right to vote is artificially restricted to donors to the SCA
Incorporated, and rightfully belongs to those that participate. (I'm a
staunch believer in democracy, myself.) Event discounts are also artificial
come-alongs, as membership status does not change an events costs one iota.

Besides, just because you find it of value, does not mean that you should
support rules that force others to do as you have chosen.

	Tibor
