RE: His Highness's New Clothes
Poster: Gregory Stapleton <gregsta@MICROSOFT.com>
Goode Gentles, pray take heed of my words and judge them on their worth,
I feel that in this discussion, the main point has either been
overlooked, missed entirely, or forgotten. I have no problem correcting
information, when it is incorrect. Let's take that as a given for
everyone here. We all want the straight poop. The problem was in the
WORDING of the responder's message to HRH Logan. In my opinion, the
wording was RUDE. I would consider the wording rude whether the posting
was to HRH or someone who had been in the SCA for but a day.
Before we go firing off email that could potentially be inflammatory,
let it set there for a few minutes and read it again and see if it not
only says what you want it to say, but that the 'sound' and connotation
of the words that you choose are those that convey your message in a
polite and courteous manner.
I have much less respect for an individual who has a 'slip of the
keyboard' than I do for an individual who has a 'slip of the lip.'
Yours in Service,
Lord Gawain Kilgore
