Greetings, all.

Perhaps one should consider the difference between the following two
announcements:
I am interested in running an assassin's game to raise money for the
Chirurgeon's at an upcoming event. What does everyone think of the idea?
and
Assassinations...the way they should have been. Coming to an event near
you.
The former is floating an idea past the group and asking for feedback. The
latter is certainly not. In fact, the latter could be (and was) mistaken for an
indiscriminate SPAM.
Also, the latter could be (and was) taken as an announcement of what some group
of SCAdians planned to do at other events--not necessarily with the consent of
the respective autocrats. As we have seen, this was not the case but the
conclusion was not difficult to draw.
Misunderstandings about UBAG aside. No one has called for censorship. No ideas
are forbidden. But if someone is interested in exploring the boundaries of our
group, put it in that frame of reference. If discourse is desired, seek
it...just remember the focus of our group.
In all honesty, the absence of discourse or the introduction of censorship are
surely the death of this forum and this group as a whole. However, expect a HUGE
fight to prevent such a demise.
>Did I imagine that someone posted a call to send complaints to the
>postmaster of the originating poster?
No but I thought it was SPAM as well...I just didn't write to the postmaster.
Simply a misunderstanding, my friend. Please view it as such. Remember, we are
all human--given to our individual whims, passions, and flaws. It just goes with
the territory.
Regards,
Tadhg
