Not to appear incapable or anything... but twice I have been required to
either ascend or descend a dewy sloop in order to present myself in court.
Both times I was pleased to find myself with an escort who was able to
grab my arm thus leaving me only slightly red in the face (instead of
green on my bum).  I love my period shoes, but traction they have none.

Not really my two cents, just another anecdote
