My understanding is, subject to modification by those more learned than
myself, if you are going to have to do a lot of cold hammer shaping
(silversmithing) of the metal , i.e. not heating it before hammering it,
you should get hot rolled.  It is more malleable, therefore less likely
to crack / less brittle from repeated hammerings.
