Actually for complete beginners I also offer the idea of calligraphy
markers because
when you're first practicing you don't want to destroy lots of nibs
right away.  Especially
since some of those nibs are getting expensive!  However understand that
one begins
with markers (for practice only) and when in the mood to start the first
scroll use real pens.
