 			Black Tower VI
June 20-22 Shire of Caer Adamant (DE)

In our never-ending quest for amusement, we hereby announce Black Tower VI,
"In Search of Lost Sheep". No tower this year (it seems we forgot to pay
the rent), but we thought a nice little crusade might make you forget small
details like that. It's a long story... well, just read this:

We, the populace of Caer Adamant, Laurel Kingdom of the East, having
suffered mightily at the hands of the inhabitants of the Canton of Spiaggia
Levantina, of the Barony of Bright Hills, Kingdom of Atlantia make these
claims and accusations:

   To wit:
      1. They have attempted to annex the County of Sussex, ours by right,
          Kingdom law, and Zip Code.
      2. They have stolen, cozened, and cajoled the women thereof into their
villainous domain for purposes most foul (belike cooking, wenching
dancing, etc..), sorely discomfiting our menfolk, who now must cook
          clean and fight for themselves.
      3. They have made free with the livestock therein, especially the
sheep,
and have made them nervous, much inconveniencing our Scots
inhabitants, who now must accost goats, which run much faster, and
          have sharp, pointy horns.
      4. They have fought on the side of our enemies, inflicting petty
annoyance on us, as we attempted to fight with our equals.
      5. They have accomplished the aforesaid with a singular lack of
grace and
panache, and have called us naughty names.
      6. They have insulted our chivalry, and he is wroth. Boy, is he wroth!

Under the circumstances it is meet and honourable that we declare a
crusade to liberate our women, calm our sheep, and restore our boundaries
to peace and order. This to occur on the weekend of the 20th through the
22nd of June, A. S. XXXII

But what is a crusade without the amenities that make it a civilized
affair? For your delectation, this event will have a Middle Eastern theme,
thus adding to the crusading ambience. There will be a traditional
mid-eastern meal: an appetizer course, a main course, and a dessert course,
featuring the creative culinary art of Lord Mikael "Kael" McCue for a
maximum of 64 gentles on board. Open flames will be allowed at feast.
There will be a light day-board offered Saturday. We will also be offering
classes in diverse arts & sciences. Her Excellency Genvieve, Baroness of
Bakhail, will offer tutelage in garb-making and henna application, the
renowned Lord Harlequin Tomfoolery will be teaching a cooking class and
there will also be courses offered in (what else?) Middle Eastern Dance and
Drumming.

For those martially inclined, but non-aligned with either belligerent
faction (now hiring), there will be melee' among the sentinel pines, a
rapier tourney (our Seneschal made us!) and an archery shoot, featuring a
Royal Round and whatever mischief our archery marshal can devise. All
combat will end with most worthy prizes for the most chivalrous fighter in
the heavy list, the wittiest/most inspiring rapieristo, and the best archer
of the day. There will also be a gift bestowed on the representative of
the fairer sex best epitomizing the virtues of feminine gentility.

For those more cerebrally inclined, or just too tired, there will be a Bean
Count A&S Competition. We will set up a space for A&S exhibits with
drinking vessels in front of each entry. The populace votes for a favorite
by placing a bean, which we will thoughtfully provide, in their chosen
entrant's cup (not during the feast, please!).

This will be a camping event and the site is discretely damp (all potables
must be in period containers, please). The site is primitive, so please
bring your own drinking water. Fire pits are available for camp fires in
specified locations, and limited cooking fires will be allowed. Bear in
mind that this is a pine forest, and that most of the site is wooded, so we
ask that you check with the Shire Forester (Lord Smokey Ursinus), for
specific locations and limitations. Remember, pillaging and looting are
acceptable behavior, but burning down the site is a no-no!

Merchants are most welcome. For information regarding fees and setup,

Parking is limited, so dragon-pooling is highly recommended.
