I heard that in 1614, Captain Thomas Hunt captured 20 Patuxet and 7 Nauset
Indians and sold them as slaves in Spain.  One of these was Squanto, who
escaped, made his way to England, and eventually, back home.  He met the
founders of the Plymouth colony in 1621.   This is just past our period, but
perhaps there were earlier incidents as well. It might be worth looking into.
