Good my lord, Pedro and friends,
My name was registered in 1984 (I said it's been a while), and it is in the
online armorial. A fine old (11th century) Scottish name. Few spell it
right the first time -- and the armorial search engine doesn't always hit on
the first try.

No readily apparent conflicts in the online armorial. It's very simple
actually (if my heraldese is correct):
Gules, a carrack, with sails furled and pennon flying, Or, within a bordure
gyronny sable and Or.
Whoever is responsible for for the online armorial has done a wonderful job.
It helped me reject several designs that were obviously in conflict. The
next obvious step is to get the submission forms available on the net as
well, so artistically impaired folks such as I can prepare legible (dare we
hope, even aesthetically pleasing?) submissions.
Thanks to all who replied to my query.
Your servant,
Findlaech mac Alasdair
(old name, old AOA, new arms...if the heralds are kind)
