Additionally, you should consider specifically writing to the Crown,
(Principals of the Golden Dolphin/Pearl (if applicable), Baron and/or Baroness 
(if applicable), and other officers of your local group) mentioning the good works 
and dedication beyond the call of duty of
these gentles.  ANYONE can recommend another for an award or other
form of recognition.  Often the powers that be will not know about
the contributions of these wonderful folks unless they are specifically
informed.  This is not to say you should not come up to them personally
to thank them or give them some other personal token of appreciation,
this is just something to do in addition.
