Greetings!

The 100 figters in Crown may come from the Kingdom of the West, where 
Crown Lists run from 85 - 112 fighters, or did when I lived there.

The last Crown Tourney in the West I attended was in June, 1994.  There 
were 'only' 85 fighters.  A combination of the winners having to pay 2/3 
of the cost of a trip to Australia to be crowned (Purgatorio Coronation 
was in Lochoc that year) and Milpitas messing up a bunch of Blue Cards, 
meant that crown was unusually 'small' that time.

Reasons for such large lists in the West may be:

1. One is Royal for less time.  One is Prince/ss for 2 - 3 months, and 
King/Queen for 4 months.  They run three reigns a year there. Thus it's 
less expensive to be on the Throne (unless you have to fly to 
Australia!!  ;)

2. The World Revolves around Crown Events in the West.  Each Crown is a 
solid 2 1/2 days and includes a lot of other stuff besides fighting.  
Ditto for the Coronations.

3. If you like to fight, and don't fight in Crown, there aren't as many 
other fighting events in Central West to go to as there are in Atlantia.

4. EVERYONE is expected to fight in Crown.  No big deal if you don't, 
but no expectation that only those who have a potential to win enter.

5. Its THE time to show off your best fighting to all the Chivalry.
