A Leather Question!

I made a leather pouch, in a class, as a christmas present, but when I got the buttens, I forgot them, so I haven't put the butten on it, but now I don't know how to, and I tried looking it up in the A&S web page, but it doesn't tell how, so can anyone out there tell me how to put a butten on a leather pouch so that a loop is coming from the flap to fit around it to hold it closed?
