Actually, I got involved in medievalism and D&D at approximately the
same time--courtesy of my involvement with Science Fiction and SF
conventions.

Can't say that my playing/DMing was improved by this--but that only
shows what I can call up consciously, not what has wormed its way into
my brain without my knowledge.
