Estrella event comments from scribe's list

Poster: Becky McEllistrem <beckymc@MICROSOFT.com>

This was a description of Estrella from a scribe's point of view.
I say that 'cause I ported it over from the scribe's list.

You may or may not be interested. Did any Atlantians make it to
Estrella and have as much fun? I don't intend to start some controversial
debate about sites, just thought you might like to read it.

My book went over well at Estrella. 3d place over all in the C&I
category. My documentation was apparently universally well recieved... I
would like to thank all of the C&I Judges (all of whom are on the list I
believe!) for their constructive comments both for Myself and for Thomas
Brownwell. THANK YOU! I defenitely view my first A&S as a posotive
experience. :-)

There were over 25 entries. I dont know who took second place, but
first apparently went to a Lady from Las Vegas who did a piece in
"Trompe"... and went so far as to simulate the look of vellum by painting it
in! It was absolutely gorgeous, and left me feeling quite humble. All of the
entries were very good, and I am frankly surprised that I did as well as I
did in comparison. I will be publishing pictures of the finished piece
pretty quickly....

Laurels prize/Queens Tea: Had a good time. This is the first of
these that I have ever done, aside from some smaller People's Prize
tourneys. Master James spent some time with me on my figures and faces, and
Master Gaukler worked with me on my binding. I just wish Thomas had been
there to share the glory. :-)

As far as the new site is concerned... I hate it. I saw a number of
entries including my own that were damaged by the pervasive dust and wind at
the event.

	Cystennin,

Who has a cold, a sun burn, a lung full of dust, and a huge bruise
under his arm that is suspiciously sword shaped.
