I just discovered an incredible archive of digitized manuscripts held
Oxford and its colleges.  It can be found at http://image.ox.ac.uk/

There are some restrictions on downloading the images and using them for
anything except personal use, and some of the images are huge, but are
good closeups of pages from period.  Check it out, though!
