And then there are the French, who I swear must leave off the last syllable of 
every word.

An instructor once told me that the French language was invented when people 
from the north met people from the south and each was too embarrassed to admit 
that they didn't understand the other, therefore ended up saying "blah, blah, 
blah" to each other and ...*ta-DA*...French was created.
