Lord Leifr Johansson, Autocrat of afore mentioned event, send greetings.

Field battle practice, good gentles, followed by a simple (barbequed) feast.

The details are provided below, so please be kind to Shires with big 
postage expenses for their newsletters, and attend either the day or the 
feast, or maybe both.

And we have lots of room to play...

Northern Region War Practice and Stierbach Birthday 
 
July 6, 1996 
 
The Shire of Stierbach invites you to the Northern Region War Practice and
Stierbach Birthday Feast .  The site is the practice fields at Metz Jr.
High in Manassas, VA.  The field is spacious but has little to no shade so
bring your pavilions and water.  There will be plenty of parking available
and an unloading area for your convenience. 
 
The site fee is $3 in advance or at the door.  However, the Feast must be
paid for in advance.  The money must be in Lard Leifr's hands by the
Stierbach's July 4th Demo at Costello Park in Manassas Park.  Adults Feast
is $8, Children 12 and under $4, make checks payable to Shire of Stierbach,
SCA Inc. 
 
There will be a prize of goblets for the best liveried lance (unit of 3 to
6 heavy fighters and water bearers, archers or rapier fighters).  There
will also be an A&S display with a theme 'It works at War'. 
 
The troll will open at 9 am, Officers call for everyone above the rank of
lance leader will be at 10 am.  Authorizations and Archery will be held
throughout the day. 
 
A Feast will be served at 6:30 and we will have to throw you off the site
at sunset.

DIRECTIONS :  From the North and West--Take your best route to I-66
Westbound from the Washington Beltway.  About 10 miles west off the
Beltway, take exit 53, Route 28 South towards Manassas.  After about 5.5
miles, turn left at the stoplight onto Liberia Avenue.  Drive 1.7 miles to
the second stoplight; turn right onto Fairview Avenue.  The school is 3/4
of a mile ahead on the left.   
>From the South and East--Take your best route to I-95 Northbound; take exit
152 (Manassas/Montclair), and drive north on Route 234.  After about 14
miles, turn right onto Richmond Avenue just before you get to downtown
Manassas.  Drive about 1 mile down Richmond; the school is on your right. 
>From the West--Take your best route to I-81 Eastbound, then take I-66 east
to Manassas (about 47 miles).  Take exit 47 off I-66 (Manassas) onto Route
234.  Proceed south on Route 234 about 4.5 miles, through downtown
Manassas.  Turn left on Richmond Avenue after you pass through the downtown
area.  The school is about 1 mile ahead on the right. 
>From the West--Take your best route to I-81 Eastbound, then take I-66 east
to Manassas (about 47 miles).  Take exit 47 off I-66 (Manassas) unto Route
234.  Proceed south on Route 234, including turning right off Sudley Road
unto Grant Ave (follow the Route 234 sign) for a total of about 4.5 miles. 
Turn left on Richmond Avenue after you pass through the downtown area.  The
school is about 1 mile ahead on the right.
