For those who have expressed an interest in the Irish Wolfhound, may
I also suggest the Scottish Deerhound. It is a similar breed to the
Wolfhound, and is also of a size with them. A Scottish Deerhound came
in fourth (IIRC) at this year's Westminster dog show in NY. They are
a lovely animal, being as tall as their Irish cousin, but their
colouration tends more towards the browns rather than the greys (at
least on those I've seen). Beyond that though, I don't know much else
about them. If you're websurfing the dog pages, you may want to look
them up.
