Speaking as one living in Calontir, I spoke with Lady Toiva who ran the
mentioned children's activities. ACTUALLY ... milk jugs are used beacuse it
is easier for the children. Knocking a milk jug over with a beanbag is
do-able.
Lobbing a rock at "dad's helm" is a) not going to please the owner of the
helm b) rather dangerous inside (as many winter events are, in this part of
the country) c) actually rather hard to do with any sense of precision.
This particualr activity has been done with real helms, plastic viking
helms, milk jugs, and paper mache. This was judged by all to be the most
fun, and after all if it's not fun ... why do it? (We are all here to have
fun, aren't we?)
