Re: Awards and all that good stuff

Are Peerage awards done on a society or kingdom level?

Society level defined, granted by Kingdoms.

If you need to do Society wide service such as SCA, inc. work,
how is the majority of SCAdians to even have a chance at becoming a
  peerage?

They don't.

If Kingdom level is the way, then how do you define service to
the kingdom? Is it by way of Kingdom level offices? Hosting Kingdom level
events? Here again, how does the majority of kingdomers have a chance?

Peerages are polling orders... and new recipients match the gut feeling of a
large sector of the order (in theory). Exactly how they "impress" those
members is very hard to quantify. (I agree with those, here, that would not
want to see it done.)

Personally (for the single Kingdom Order I poll on) I ask myself "Would
including this person improve the reputation of the order, and would failing
to include them harm the reputation of the order?" If get a yes to both, I
vote strongly yes, if I have a yes to just the first I just check the yes
box on the poll, and otherwise I say no.

I couldn't always tell you, even, *why* I say the answers I say.
