Re: Kingdom A&S One Year Competition

Unto the Patrons of the Merry Rose does Genevieve d’Aquitaine send

     There has been much discussion of late regarding the One-Year
Competition at the latest Kingdom Arts and Sciences Festival.   There have
been questions regarding the judging of this and many other competitions.
For this I am sorry.  Due to this there will not be a One-Year Competition
scheduled for next year’s Kingdom Arts and Sciences Festival.   I do plan on
having this later on during my term, but not at the next Kingdom Arts and
Sciences Festival.   Be assured that I will announce the next one far enough
in advance.
     I would like to gather some opinions about the judging for A&S
competitions in general.   I request that anyone with a pet peeve about
judging, whether it be from the perspective of a judge or an entrant, please
send it to me.  I plan to take some action to lessen the harsh feelings
taken away about how a competition is run, after I have researched the
matter.  Please do not take up bandwidth here, unless it is deemed by the
patrons a worthy topic of discussion.  I would gladly take private responses
to this e-mail address.  Please do not turn this into a flame war.  My
September Acorn letter will solicit opinions as well from all of Atlantia’s
