Re: Pennsic Panic - the Game
Poster: David KUIJT <kuijt@umiacs.umd.edu>
As for me, I'm working on the following projects:
4 benches around 4' long based upon a surviving original in the V&A, all
tough enough to survive Bench-boy Bob (so-named when he broke three
benches in one Pennsic before)
All the woodwork/poles/centerpole for a single-pole pavilion large enough
to seat 30+ people for dinner (17' high, 25' or so diameter, round) (the
Megalino, aka the Big Top)
Waterproofing and painting the canvas for the above. Also stakes,
lighting, and maybe 6-8 tables for inside it.
Making all the wood parts for two more Pavalinos (13' tall single-pole
pavilions, 20' diameter).
A 15th century oak slat bed with headboard, based upon a surviving
example
And finishing my dissertation.
The sad part is that I'm not even going to Pennsic, because I don't have
time, because of the last thing. All of the stuff mentioned above is
going to go to Pennsic without me, and I won't even get to see it in use.
